![]() Why would they read the announcement bar? Because it's blaring in their face. So if we had 2 Sub-Forums, (HoF and Closed) then atleast the newbies might start getting an understanding of the rules. If people don't read stickies, which are up the top of the pages, why would they read the announcements? Some of the older members might, but the new members wouldn't. HoF WOULD help, and I agree with that idea, but I don't think the announcment bar would help at all. I know quite a few people that would do well in the "Suggestion Forum Mod" positon I go to the suggestions forum every day and I'm addicted to it. ![]() It'd definately help, though, to have topic posting under moderator review for the new members. Most people go, then leave, then go, then leave, and so on. No one really, from my perspective, actively goes there. Suggestion Forum Mods'd be a bad idea, in my opinion. Stricter punishments, and an announcement bar saying that there will be strict punishments, would definately whip the new forumers into shape, no question. The Suggestion HoF would help, though it may cause more spam to get there. It works for the guides, so why wouldn't it work there? The closed suggestions subforum would definately work. Suggestions Forum Mods- for some reason most think they would be unreliable, but I'm in favor of sectional mods.Stricter Punishments for Spammers- There are the new forumers who spam once or twice, and then there are those with 600-1000 posts who continually spam.Hall of Fame- we wont be able to give any ingame reward like other forums do did, but this is a good way to motivate people to put more effort into their topics.Closed Suggestions Subforum- reasons stated above.I know the mojority of these have been shot down in the past, but I stick by my belief that they would be a solution: If an author has a chance to go and view their topic they will be more likely to make better suggestions in the future. Sure, some topics are just plain spam, but there are those that are well detailed and original that break the rules so much that they can't be allowed to slip by. ![]() Just deleting topics doesn't give authors a chance to go back and see what they've done wrong so as to correct it.
